I can’t escape them They surround me Relentlessly attacking
I fall I cry I near despair
Wait! Someone else is speaking. Straining, I listen
His Words Though silent Interrupt the torrent
Comfort Encouragement Hope pours in
Bathing my soul Strengthening Healing
I am safe Shielded Completely protected
I will trust His Words Though the others are confident
I will cling to His Words Though the others still echo in my mind
I will believe His Words For they are full of life
Proverbs 12:18,“There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” Proverbs 15:4,“A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but perversion in it crushes the spirit.” John 1:1,“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Psalm 119:28,“My soul weeps because of grief; strengthen me according to Your word.” Proverbs 30:5,“Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.”
Ephesians 6:11 and following with emphasis on 6:16.
I love this, yes doubt, lies, focus on the wrong I see this all of as part of the armor of the shield of faith! Faith, trust, confidence that he will shield us in nagging, agonizing, destructive thoughts! Thank you for the post! ❤️

Thank you so much for connecting the poem to Ephesians 6 and the armor of God and the shield of faith! I had not noticed it before but totally see it now!
