Do bios drive you crazy too?

Publishing a book and being an inspirational speaker are things I have dreamed of doing one day in the distant future. However, when currently reading bios of published authors and speakers, I often feel incompetent and wonder what my own bio would include. I imagine it reading something like this:

Elizabeth Neal is a wife, mom, and one hot mess. She is not an award-winning author nor speaker. She has founded nothing. She directs nothing. She is not on any boards. She holds no advanced degrees. She does not have a paying job. She is an almost CPA. She is an almost Black Belt. She communicates irregularly on a blog to 153 followers. She currently resides in Georgia with her husband and four children, who she daily fails loving.

Cognitively, I know we are all messed up people (Romans 3:23), but bios often rub me the wrong way seemingly implying I have no business attempting to put my voice out there in any fashion. But guess what? God has some encouragement for His messed up children.

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6

Slowly but surely, God is perfecting me. For all eternity my bio will beautifully read:

Elizabeth Neal is “washed…sanctified…[and ] justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.” (I Corinthians 6:11) She is “holy and blameless and beyond reproach.” (Colossians 1:22) She is endlessly and perfectly reigning with Jesus Christ. (Revelation 22:5). Love defines her every thought, word, and action.

What is your eternal bio?
