The world was created good. But the good world was then shattered. We wake up in the aftermath. Every. Single. Day. (Genesis 1-3)
Sometimes we walk around in an illusion because so much of our little sphere of life is congruent with what we want. We have plenty of friends. We have plenty of nice clothes. We have all the things we need plus more. We feel competent. We feel healthy. Our family loves us. All feels right in our little corner of the world.
Sometimes though our heart is as shattered as the good world is.
Then comes the season when we are expected to say, “Happy New Year!”
How is that even possible?
Because hope hasn’t died. Hope hasn’t shattered. Hope is inextinguishable. Hope survived the aftermath.
Next year is overflowing with hope. Every. Single. Day. Will we consciously choose to rejoice in that reality? (Romans 12:12)
Is that your life verse, angel? How exquisite. Thank you so much x
