There I stood heavyhearted
Unable to engage
Sadness winning
Despair crushing
Confusion reigning
But God had not overlooked me
He had heard my cry
He had seen my tears
He had read my journal
He sent someone my way
Truth was kindly spoken
What else was said is hard to say
All I know, the burden lifted
The shield of faith was rediscovered
Words had strengthened
Compassion had visited
Mercy surrounded me
Grace abounded
There I stood in strength
